Mrs. Rivera Visual Art Education
My name is Carrie Ann Rivera. My love of art dates back as far as I can remember. I started drawing and painting and can remember big projects in Elementary school. My love for the arts and passion for helping children drove me to the teaching profession.
I received my BFA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, GA. After relocating to Raleigh, NC in 2010 I continued my education at Meredith College. I received my K-12 Art Education Licensure in 2012.
After completing college, I worked in Cambridge, MA at EF Education (GO Ahead Tours) as a Junior Graphic Designer. I created both print and web graphics for the company. I love creating posters, logos, editing images, creating t-shirt designs and managing websites but my true calling was teaching children art.
This is my 1st year as a Carver Cub. I'm excited to get to know the students, family, and community this school year. Before Carver, I taught at Sanford Creek Elementary in Rolesville and Richland Creek Elementary in Wake Forest. Also,. In the fall of 2011 I did my art student teaching at Salem Middle School in Apex, NC.
My husband, Will and I have lived in North Carolina for almost 12 years and love the Franklin County area. We have an eight year old son, Liam and a six year old, Elijah. We love taking trips to the beach, going on family adventures, and trying new things. I look forward to getting to know you, your child and working with them every week in art class.
Feel Free to contact me at any time!
